The client wanted to bring a stronger sense of local culture into the workplace through the use of rattan, a material long associated with Indian craft traditions, woven furniture and artisanal detailing. The challenge was to incorporate this natural design language while also improving the acoustic performance of the space.
Ekous worked closely with the designer to co-create a customised acoustic solution combining woven rattan with our PET acoustic panels. We experimented with different rattan types, weaving patterns and panel configurations to achieve the right balance of appearance, durability and sound absorption. The final solution retained the warmth and craftsmanship of natural rattan while integrating acoustic performance seamlessly into the overall design.
