The designer envisioned a bold ceiling feature extending approximately 30 metres across the space, with each baffle formed to a different radius and only 100 mm wide. With no obvious material or construction method able to achieve the concept, Ekous was engaged to develop a workable acoustic solution.
We worked closely with the team to translate the concept into a buildable system, testing different radii, panel constructions and forming methods to achieve the required curves and angles. The installation method also had to be carefully developed to maintain alignment across the full ceiling span while accommodating the variation between each baffle. Through repeated prototyping and site coordination, we delivered a highly customised acoustic feature that preserved the original design vision.
