The designer envisioned a bold ceiling feature extending approximately 30 metres across the space, with each baffle formed to a different radius and only 100 mm wide. With no obvious material or construction method able to achieve the concept, Ekous was engaged to develop a workable acoustic solution.
Ekous developed a highly customised Vertical Ceiling Baffle system spanning approximately 30 metres, with each 100 mm-wide baffle formed to a different radius to achieve the designer’s bold ceiling concept.
Through extensive prototyping, we refined the panel construction, curvature and installation method to maintain consistent alignment across the full ceiling span while accommodating the unique geometry of each baffle.
The result was a distinctive acoustic feature that combined complex curved forms, precise fabrication and acoustic performance, while staying true to the original design vision.
