Pioneering acoustic design and innovation
As part of TaZ Corporation Sdn Bhd, a company with over 25 years of experience in the interior finishing, design services, and building materials industry, Ekous was created to make acoustic treatment more practical, creative, and accessible.
We believe that good acoustics should be part of every well-designed space. Sound affects how people work, communicate, focus, learn, and feel. Whether in an office, meeting room, auditorium, school, hotel, or public space, the right acoustic solution can make a space more comfortable, functional, and enjoyable.
At Ekous, our aim is simple: to help create spaces that sound as good as they look.
what we do
End-to-end acoustic solutions
Ekous supports projects from early design development through to final installation.
We provide design consultation, co-creation and product development, working closely with architects and interior designers to turn concepts into practical acoustic solutions. Our team also provides acoustic advice, simulations, technical drawings, material selection and samples to ensure the proposed design meets both performance and aesthetic requirements.
Once approved, we manage fabrication, supply, site coordination and installation, providing one complete acoustic solution from concept to completion.

Ekous didn’t begin with acoustic panels. It began with decades of manufacturing knowledge, curiosity and a belief that difficult problems are worth solving. Today, that same foundation continues through a new generation, combining technical craftsmanship with design thinking and innovation.
Founder
Tan Ay Zing
With more than 35 years in the furniture and interiors industry, Tan Ay Zing built his expertise from the factory floor up. His experience spans furniture manufacturing, metal fabrication, cabinetry and interior products, giving him a deep understanding of materials and fabrication.
Around 15 years ago, he recognised the potential of PET acoustic panels and introduced the material to Southeast Asia, helping architects, designers and clients understand the value of architectural acoustics at a time when the industry was still in its early stages.
Guided by a simple philosophy — “When nobody can do it, we can.” — his willingness to solve difficult challenges became the foundation of Ekous and established the company as an early pioneer of PET acoustic solutions in the region.
Next Generation
Tan Ian
Tan Ian brings a new perspective to the foundation built by Ekous. After studying law in the UK, he worked at Boston Consulting Group, heavily involved in strategy and transformation projects across multiple industries.
Returning to Ekous, Ian has focused on combining decades of technical expertise with design thinking, innovation and a regional outlook. Today, he is helping evolve the company from an acoustic panel supplier into a design-led solutions partner, working closely with architects and designers to turn ambitious ideas into practical, buildable acoustic solutions across Asia.
